Argyll finds rural and island sites that qualify, confirms the funding band from the postcode, and introduces you to the operators and installers who put the chargers in and run them. There is no cost to the site.

What we do
Grant-funded charging for rural and island sites
We find out whether your site qualifies, confirm the band, and bring you written proposals from approved operators and installers. No cost to you.
ChargePlace Scotland transition
If you host an older ChargePlace Scotland unit, the network is changing and a replacement grant exists. We help you move to a committed operator in time.

How it works
Five steps, in this order. Most sites go from first call to a grant application inside a few weeks.
You sign a letter of authority
One page. It lets Argyll check your site, speak to operators and installers for you, and correspond with Energy Saving Trust once you have confirmed us to them. It does not commit you to anything and you can withdraw it by email.
We confirm the band and book a site check
The postcode decides whether the fund pays 100 or 75 per cent. The site check looks at parking, access and the electricity supply.
You receive written proposals
From approved operators or installers. Revenue share, use of bays, term and maintenance are their terms, set out in writing before you sign anything.
The application is made in your name
By you, or by your chosen operator on your behalf. Nothing is bought or started before it is in, because the fund does not pay for work already under way.
Installation follows the grant offer
Offers must be accepted within ten working days and by 15 December 2026; works complete and claimed by 16 March 2027.

Does your site qualify?
The fund uses the Scottish Government's urban rural classification. The postcode decides the band; the site check decides the rest.

The land must be privately owned, or leased with the landowner's consent, and the chargers must be open to the public. Send us the postcode and we will tell you the band the same day.

- The fund asks things of a host: public access around the clock for five years, a back-office contract, a public map listing. We tell you before you sign anything.
